Lucas Arcizo has wanted to be a pianist for as long as he can remember. The instrument of choice of some of history’s greatest composers and performers, the piano can be a bit intimidating to the novice musician. In high school, Lucas felt overwhelmed by the instrument. He didn’t think he had what it took to pursue his dream, so he quit. When he started thinking about college, he was attracted to A&M-Commerce’s music program. Here he met faculty who were interested in him and understood the challenges he faced as an aspiring musician. He came to A&M-Commerce with a renewed passion for music. Lucas ended up playing in Europe and even performed a solo at Carnegie Hall. Lucas understood that success isn’t born from a wish or a dream. It comes from finding the will to forge a way.
