BACHELOR OF FINE ARTS IN STUDIO ART
In addition to fulfilling the Core Curriculum requirements, students pursuing the BFA in Studio Art will complete the art foundations courses and select an concentration from the following areas: Ceramics; Experimental Studies; Painting; Photography; or Sculpture. There is no minor area of concentration in the BFA degree. Students are advised to enroll each semester in no more than 2-3 courses from the Core Curriculum and 2-3 courses in art. Studio art courses normally meet for 5-6 hours per week, so it is important not to over-schedule these classes. While in some degrees it may be wise to complete the Core Curriculum requirements before enrolling in advanced courses in the major, the best strategy in pursuing a BFA is to distribute Core Curriculum and art courses equally over the 4-5 years it takes to complete the degree.
